Well, well, y'all survived another month in this charming little town - great job! A little more mystery than violence this month, which is a trend we will see continuing on into August. Read on for details!

Once again, apps will be open August 1-7, with activity check reporting due no later than August 5. You can report in any time, however - you're not required to wait until the 1st!

NAPs, our regular monthly intro event for getting to know your neighbors, will be held August 10-14, of course. As always, participation is optional, but you can't make new friends and enemies if you don't get out and meet people!

Speaking of enemies - remember how everyone has that microchip that nobody ICly knows about? It's going to come into play with this month's main event. Not only does the chip function as a universal translator, it's also a way for the Head to keep tabs on all Dualizens - in other words, the Head is lowkey linked into your heads. Neat, huh? The Head mostly uses this for tracking and information-gathering purposes - because, as you know, this is a cyberpunk dystopia - but this month, there will be a slight complication. Due to mysterious and unforeseen technical difficulties, there will be a citywide glitch, and through the Head's mindlink, all opted-in characters will share memories with each other.

This includes the Head, too! Bits and pieces of its memory banks will become available throughout the glitching time. Haven't you wondered what really happened to the city's original inhabitants? Well, I'm glad you asked, because here is your opportunity to find out a little more. Take notes and poke around afterward, and you might just uncover something useful and horrifying!

Participation in the mindlinking is optional, of course. But don't you want to take advantage of this fun technical error and subject your fellow citizens to your best and/or worst memories? The memory sharing will be experienced as a rolling effect from August 15-24.

Posts can be made in either logs or network format, but please remember to use warnings for any potentially triggering and traumatic content. You can share as many memories as you'd like (within reason) but please contain them to a single post.

Please also remember that even though the microchip is responsible for this memory sharing, no character is aware that they have a chip embedded in their body. No lucky guessing, no sudden revelations, nada. All characters should be completely mystified as to how the hell they're getting other people's memories shoved in their heads. The chip's existence will become known ICly a little farther down the line, so please have patience and wait until then to give us your expressions of outrage.

And while there's no word from the Heart this month, they certainly haven't disappeared. Maybe once you've had your dose of after-mindlink brainbleach, you'd be interested in poking around for more information about the party or parties responsible for last month's weird broadcast and the Dualis Days bombing? This is a huge city and there are plenty of places to comb for clues, after all. Who wants to see David embarassed? Memory share plotting?

So David will have multiple memories, mostly along a theme. A theme of 'fucking hell why do I keep ending up in one-sided kisses?'

So I know I want David kissing one thing and it turns into Tommy because awkwardness. But I've got other options. What do we think of this list, what might amuse you to see?

-David forced to kiss a teammate via her pheromone powers because she wanted to make another guy jealous and David had said no?
-David kissing another teammate because he wanted to know what kissing a guy was like and he was certain he was about to die he didn't want to die with regrets again
-David, in the aftermath of loving his mutation, being forced to watch his girlfriend he was VERY serious about kiss ANOTHER guy he doesn't get along with, as an attempt to make him leave Xavier's and the X-Men. his is the most heart breaky.

I can't decide which one is funnier but I do want a kissing memory share for Squall.

Options for good wholesome content:

-Hank with Cole at the playground. Cole's just running around and playing and Hank's being a big goofy dad with him. Stuff like spinning the the child centrifuge aka merry-go-round or helping him across monkey-bars or playing ball.

-Happy memories of playing with his dog when he was a puppy. Or further back when Hank was younger, playing with his rescue dog.

-Fun with friends before the depression hit. Watching games in one of those "We brought a million snacks like a dudebro church luncheon" sports nights. Or failing miserably at skating in front of witnesses and throwing snow in their faces. That sort of shit.

Bad memories.

-Crime scenes, because he's been on homicide for a while.

-Suicidal content warning: Hank playing Russian Roulette.

Need a partner for the memory exchange? Hi, I like exchanging memories. This is just an interest check for things to write out, and if you'd like to trade memories with this loser, I'm all for it.

I've got three scenarios, the Bad, the Really Bad, and the Really, Really Bad, as follows.

THE BAD: Light embarrassment, and I imagine your character will be weirded out after this one. (And if they're not, they're weird.) Long story short, Crossdressing, and interrogating a pimp.


THE REALLY BAD: Okay, so Cloud is associated with a terrorist faction- and personally bombed Midgar's Reactor 1* It killed a lot of civilians, and it was pretty bad. The memory to be viewed from this is the following which includes mech abuse, and probably a headache from Barret yelling.

* NOTE: Your character is more than welcome to think this bombing is the same event as Dualis' bombing, and that Cloud had something to do with it. In fact, please do! It's the reason this memory is up.

THE REALLY, REALLY BAD: This. (19:55 - 21:39.) Cloud will deny these memories are his until the stars and back (because he can't recall these conciously) so be prepared for an argument.

I swear this is after I tried narrowing things down. I'm down for throwing in up to 2 memories per thread depending on how the first memory share goes. If you're canon familiar and there's something you want to see, feel free to suggest that too.

Good
- His awkward first dance/meeting with Rinoa
- (CW: Good ending but threat of death, near-asphyxiation, space horror) Risking his life and jumping out into space without a backup plan to save his girlfriend, Rinoa who's about to die in space.
- Rescuing Rinoa from being frozen and sent to space.

Complicated
- A cute alien??
- Memoryception! Squall's consciousness is sent back to the past into the mind of his young father. There are a couple options. The first time it happened where Squall is really freaking confused and Laguna sucks at dating. And the other where he's already used to it and the whole memory involves people thinking a real dragon is fake for a hot minute.
- (CW: facial injury/blood) Sparring with his rival, Seifer, and they scar each other on the forehead with their gunblades.
- Chased through town by a giant robot spider
- (CW: Abandonment) Sad bb Squall in the rain with an older Squall judging himself. (or other childhood memories? But they're mostly sad...)

Bad (CW: torture)
- Chained to a wall and tortured with electricity (including scene with Seifer with Sic's permission! \o/)

Very Bad (CW: severe mental trauma, near-death/comatose state)
- Lost in the void and getting his mind ripped apart and blended through time/alternate realities before experiencing nothing.

Nida's Memories - Kept Vague because some SERIOUS bad stuff.

So I've definitely been working on Nida's memories for this, and I'll just have the vaguest for the two that are certain. Mostly I want to know who might be up for his dark memories. Because Nida will actually fucking break at someone who sees these. Or maybe hit them.

Bad Memories
-A final fight between Nida and his former lover and best friend. Nida comes out with a nearly fatal blow and the other guy isn't so lucky.
-The emotional repercussions of this battle when Nida returns to Garden and gets to hear lots of praising gossip about him having killed his former lover and best friend. Ouch.



Neutral memory
-Anyone just want to know what it feels like to just sink into a very satisfying round of weapon kata? Just feel the perfect burn of muscles and the stretch of a flexible body and the satisfaction of achieving perfection?



Happy Memories
These are more up for consideration. So tell me what you think I should do?
-Nida when he gets his Rank A grading from SeeD (because yay!)
-Nida and Billy finally getting their acts together and agreeing to date
-Billy and Nida's first sleepover where Nida realizes 'oh fuck Rinoa's right, I want him'


Silly Memories
-Listen, there was this one time Nida had to go undercover and ended up in a lovely green silk gown. Who doesn't want that? He looked GOOD.

Just popping this up in case anyone needs a breath of fresh air! Billy's gonna have a few cute memories:

1. A Hanukkah party from his last world, basically a bunch of misfit toys all hanging out eating latkes and learning how to sing songs in Hebrew to varying degrees of success. Attendees included Billy and Tommy, Netflix Frank Castle, MCU Wanda Maximoff, Rinoa from FF8, and a very large plantman.

2. Billy and Tommy's first meeting, feat. the Young Avengers, as they break Tommy out of mutant juvie and realize that Billy has some weird facetwin

3. Undetermined, but either his accidental coming out to his parents, that moment in Central Park where he and Teddy restart Noh's ship through sheer belief, or Billy and Nida dancing a tango on New Years' Eve like two goddamn nerds.

Please feel free to experience any/all of these as a refreshing break from all the murder and trauma! :D

IDEAS
- the time Zack asked Aqua out on a date and made her blush to high heaven.
- the last time Aqua, Terra, and Ven sat under the same stars before everything happened
- her Mark of Mastery exam - featuring Terra's simultaneous exam and Ven sort of participating on the side
- any of a number of times that Aqua has needed to fight a Disney villain to stop some kind of plot
- taking down the boss in Radiant Garden with Ven and Terra
- the moment she learned that her master and father figure had been killed
- the time she tracked down possessed!Terra and fought him before sacrificing herself to give him a chance at life in the realm of light
- any point during her time in the realm of darkness: CW: this can lead into depression and insecurity talk, as she had a phantom version of herself whispering in her ear for a while

- ASK ME SPECIFICALLY FOR KH3 IDEAS IF YOU WANT TO TALK THEM OVER - PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE AND MARK IF YOU WANT TO TALK KH3 IN YOUR SUBJECT HEADER since I know of at least one person who would still like not to be spoiled. Cissie’s memories!

Okay, so I’m going to be both nice and mean to Cissie. Because why not. I am open to requests or suggestions!

The Not-So-Nice:
-Probably a memory from Cissie’s fairly difficult childhood. Her mother was a real pain in the ass stage mom who said things like “Second Place is the First Loser” and meant it. Cissie was trained to be a masked vigilante, to be “better than Green Arrow” from basically the age of 5. She lived for her mother’s approval and the only way to get it was to be perfect and better than all the other kids... which did not make for easy friendships. So there will be some emotionally abusive/controlling/domineering stage mom memories, for sure. Bonnie pushes Cissie into the hero business for the fame, not for the actual heroing.

-I am also trying to decide between sharing:
A) the night Cissie witnessed her therapist’s brutal murder and chased the murderers through the woods with every intention of torturing and killing them before Superboy stopped her, being the event that made her decide to quit the hero business (because heroes Don’t Kill, and she still does not trust herself not to do the same thing again).

B) Memories of Cissie watching Superboy and/or Bart!Flash die on television while she has to pretend she doesn’t know them personally, because she’s a civilian, so she has to wait until she’s alone to break down.

C) ...Both. Both is good?

The Good Ones:
-Something from her time in Young Justice, when she had friends and was super happy being Arrowette and helping to save people and make a difference. Or when they came with her to watch her at the Olympics, even after she quit the team. Because they were her family.

-...I’m sure she has other good memories to share. Maybe something from her time in EWay or 6i, even...

+ death #1 wherein the joker beats him almost to death and blows him up

+ that showdown with batman wherein jason blows himself up this time

+ possibly death #2 in 6i, wherein he gets stabbed in the throat by nega-john wick while protecting his friends

+ anyone interested in seeing how bb jason found his mother dead of a drug overdose? ;__; that's a maybe memory too.

+ less horrible: first meeting with batman, wherein jason's stealing tires off the batmobile

+ GOOD MEMORY because this kid deserves a little bit of a break: his first night out as robin, aka "the best day of my life"

Like most people in this thread, I'll put general warnings here for a lot of the usual triggers, such as violence, fighting, near-death for them, death for opponents, because both of them are warriors and that's just what happens. Also putting warnings for physical/mental abuse for both of them as well because... yeah, their childhoods were shitty :/ Also sex/talk of sex with Clint. I'll put more specific trigger warnings on memories that are chosen when these get written up.

For the moment I'm going to offer a (probably too long) list of options for both guys and whichever ones people are interested in seeing, plus one or two of my choosing, will get written up and put in their posts. Seifer memories plotting/interest

Stating first that I am absolutely down for personalized requests for anyone who wants something different but I think I've settled on three primary ones to go with:

1: 2nd battle in Galbadia Garden, Seifer faces off against Squall and his team in defense of Sorceress Edea after having lost to them once. CW: Violence, heavy implication of mind manipulation/control, heavily implied death/near death. Likely to be a first person in this case to get the full effect of desperation and despair at his failures.

2: Presidential Kidnapping: Seifer breaks out of detention and runs off to Timber to go try to help his resistance fighter girlfriend and greenhorn rival's team not die to the entire Galbadian Army. Gets in way over his head almost immediately. CW: Some violence, more implication of mind control

3: Forge Family Dinner. This is from his last game where the whole forge worker crew were very much like a family and enjoyed holding a monthly huge dinner with additional guests. All warm and fuzzy and family, with Seifer a bit of an awkward odd duck still trying to socialize and debate whether waffles or pancakes are better. The cute option.


Additional alternatives on definitely on the table. A special request for him throwing Rinoa at Adel (big terrifying Sorceress') feet is one I'm also doing if anyone else wants.

Alternative alternative: The first time he took down a T-Rexaur solo.

Sharon here has quite the wealth of memories to share, though most of them fall into the realm of horror and horrifying or just plain traumatic and awful, warnings for things like child abuse, bullying, gore, and body horror. Positive
- Her father giving her an early 18th birthday present. It's certainly not a perfectly joyous memory but it's the last one with her father before her life went south and she cherishes it a great deal. It reveals certain information like where she got her white vest and the fact she's using an alias.
- Dahlia taking her to get a treat when she was Alessa. They're told they can't eat in the ice cream shop because it'd bother other customers. This results in Dahlia taking her to the park and explaining to her that she loves her no matter what and that she's the only thing she needs in her life.

Not So Positive
- She uses her powers at school on accident. Other students witness it resulting in severe bullying.
- That one time she was burned alive as a kid.
- The massacre of The Order members in the church. This can be fun because your character can see it from different view points. There's Sharon's memory of it, which includes awful things like watching a cop burn & witnessing her mother (be a total fucking BAMF) get stabbed. There's Dark Alessa's memory of it, which is mostly as an observer, save dancing in the blood like it's rain. And then there's just Alessa's memory of it, of rising up from a literal hell to rain vengeance upon the people that destroyed her life.
For Sharon, these memories all stack on top of one another. Your character can experience that confusing mash of memories or they can experience individual parts of the memory. (A lot. Everything. All the warnings apply. Barbed wire assault, people get turned into soupy rain)
- How do you feel about first days of school? Experience her first (and last) day at All Hallows High! Experience what it's like to be the new kid! See a monster! (Bullying, vague monster-y body horror)
- How about malls? Wanna visit a mall, panic after seeing some monsters, and witness the murder of a PI? She's got that, too. (Gore, body horror, people burgers)

Gosh, some people shouldn't be allowed to memory share.

Rinoa's Memories / Plotting

It's. Possible I might add more here later as I'm thinking about it, but I wanted to put in something before I forgot. (I was going to separate these into positive and negative and realised there was a gross imbalance between the two.)

Possible Memories [Thus Far]
• Rinoa and Squall make a bittersweet promise if they should ever become separated.
• Rinoa's father (Fury Caraway) explains [as carefully as he can] to a five year old Rinoa that her mother has passed away in a car accident.
• Seifer's sentencing in Galbadia Garden after trying to help the Timber resistance by holding the Galbadian President hostage on live television. Rinoa talks about her relationship with Seifer and how he has affected her as a person.
• Seifer gives Rinoa to Sorceress Adel, so she can increase her witchy powers. (Content warning for some mind control / manipulation and weird amalgamation-like displays.)

Connor - memories, plotting, etc.

This plastic asshole is three months old so there isn't a deep well here, BUT lemme dig out a few things.

If you're canon familiar and want to use literally anything, though, I'm cool with that! Just ask me what dialogue options and such I used if you go into detail (the answer will always be 'the woobie option').

Also I'm cool with anybody using any of these even if you're not threading with Connor - I'd love for someone Connor has never met to ask him about any of these when he least expects it. And obviously I don't mind people mentioning Connor's memories if they happen to come up (just let me know if it comes up in any threads so I can stalk ohoho).

(I'll probably be running around asking other people for permission to do this, so I'm giving blanket permission now!)

Anyway, preamble's over:

EDIT: I gave in to my base urges and started actually writing them. Here's the write-up! Will be updated as I add more. But also summaries:

- Connor arrives at his first case directly after being activated.

- An android is holding a human girl hostage. Connor is the negotiator.

- Diving through Hank's kitchen window headfirst and running directly into his dog. (this video for like 20 seconds)
Fully not even worth a write-up, I just wanted to include it for something that isn't Connor navel-gazing in various situations.

Hello I am new but I am very excited to do this so have a list of memories from a tiny Canadian podcast reporter. Warning: The Black Tapes is a horror podcast (and it's kind of terrible but it's my terrible!) so it has standard like horror tropes that apply.

Possible good memories:
Alex at five wanting to be Lois Lane A star female reporter from a Super Hero show for trick or treating and her mom making the costume and her dad dressing as Jimmy Olson boy photographer!.

Alex at four being taken shopping for her first toy post adoption by her parents and it's an Eeyore and she chooses it because he looks like he needs a friend the most.

Alex Reagan meeting Richard Strand for the first time. (Spoilers for the Black Tapes episode and Alex finding his voice extremely attractive.)

Wanda has her Sixth Iteration memories and her Endgame memories. I am not sure what I'll be doing and will likely impulsively decide but if anyone wants to see anything specific please let me know. She has her time in prison or killing the man she loved as two pretty intense moments.
