A lot more of us would believe a "dad's been kidnapped by crazy cultists" story. Throw some 'I think they're on drugs' in there and you'd end up with a bullrush. I was in narcotics for a long time. I remember how fast we used to jump on that shit.

Anonymous calls help a lot too. We do follow up. Don't give up on the first dismissal. Just because one of us is an asshole doesn't mean the second one will be, and honestly if someone is pretty urgent about saying it more than once, we'll look into it.

And we pretty much go into the job knowing we might get killed. Doesn't mean we aim for it... [Well, most cops anyway. Hank's been hoping a little, even if he's feeling a little better.] ...but it'd never be your fault if one of us did. I'm full of stab wounds and bullet scars. Not the fault of the people that called me in.
